“UPSC”- This is the dream of almost half of the Indian youth's 1st choice to join the noble institution of administration i.e. LABASNA -Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration to be a part of Civil Services. To achieve this goal they do a lot of hard work. when a beginner makes up his mind to be a civil servant his life changes from being a normal student to a UPSC aspirant. this transformation does not take place in a few minutes or hours it takes a lot more than anything your time, happy moments which you could have spent with your family and friends. The journey of being an aspirant is not that easy because, on the day you enter into it, the whole perception of your thought towards life takes a new dimension. some get it very easy and for some, it becomes a nightmare.

Unemployment

on average, the life of a civil services aspirant is much more than a normal exam aspirant. an aspirant study almost 8 to 12 hours a day. his/her schedule starts before sunrise by reading the newspapers such as the Hindu and Express, the tiring day with continuous efforts and focus in completing the syllabus in time. half of their life is spent inside the 4 walls decorated with different maps and key terms. After doing all this hustle also only a few get a chance to become a civil servant. we work hard without interacting with the outside world. this intense pressure and compact schedule can break anyone at any point in time. we fight every day. we give hundreds of mocks, analyze the performances we fail, again strategize then again get ready to compete. some of them don't even realize how they have grown up from 21 to 30. the most precious time of youthfulness had passed and an aspirant was still juggling with our vast syllabus. Is this the life we deserve, is this the future of our upcoming generation? I’m really worried about us our dear youth. why don't we have more opportunities and options? a middle-class father takes a loan leaving behind his situation of sleeping with an empty stomach. the single mother aspires to her dream of making an IAS daughter, and a farmer's family collectively works so that they can earn some sort of money to give their son a living in Delhis Mukherjinagar hostel this is not enough there are many more stories like this in every corner of our country.

after every passing election we just see the decorative speech of new opportunities, jobs, and innovations but what we are getting as a result is unemployment, poverty, hopelessness, and a stagnant future.

Point to be noted, dear readers…..

According to the INDIAN EMPLOYMENT REPORT 2024, created jointly by the Institute for Human Development and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), India’s working population increased from 61 percent in 2011 to 64 percent in 2021, and it is projected to reach 65 percent in 2036. However, the percentage of youth involved in economic activities declined to 37 percent in 2022.

In India Suicide has become a significant public health concern. it's eating the life of youth every single minute due to the extreme pressure of their future. the youth who could be the country’s soldiers, writers, scientists, actors, and artists have chosen death. according to the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics, there has been a concerning rise in suicide rates from 9.9 per lakh population in 2017 to 12.4 per lakh population in 2022.

almost 83% of our youth is jobless and no doubt this number could increase in the future. seeing the drastic situation of Bharuch district Gujrat and a controversial UPSC SCAM of POOJA KHEDKAR made me rethink what more we are likely to witness in the future.

we need wings of opportunities, not scams, we need a secure future not unemployment.

This is an “ASPIRANT” — a civil being signing off in the hope of “FAIR JUSTICE” for our lives.

Civil Beings

Writing to me is like painting my thoughts with different emotions of life into the life's canvas. it's a healing therapy that cures my wounds with positivity.
